“For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory.” Hebrews 2:10
This life that we have in Christ is not always easy. We go through many trials, tribulations and heartaches. It’s learning how to let go and daily let God have His way. There is a forging taking place that is creating an iron core in each one of us. The word forging means to shape metal by hammering and pressing. It’s a grueling process. It is necessary in our lives to bring about perfection. It is through this process that we will be able to stand no matter what comes. He is bringing us into glory.
Paul said, “He has learned to be content in whatever situation he finds himself in.” Philippians 4:11. Just knowing the surety of his salvation in his relationship with the One who created him brought him that contentment. As he was being perfected through suffering, trials and tribulations he learned discipline, obedience and trust. It is just as the old hymn states, “Trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.” The Lord was doing all this work inside Paul as His son that would ultimately bring him to glory!
I shared on the last post that I just recently went through something that I allowed fear to stop me from being obedient to what He had told me to do. I am so thankful for His grace and mercy that continues to run after me and not allow me to stay in a state of fear. He brings me to repentance and restores me back to obedience and trust in Him. If I don’t take the path of repentance then I have to go through the trial again until I get it. I feel that because we are in these last days the trials, temptations and tribulations have been ramping up. This is not all bad because it allows for more opportunities of His forging. It is a good thing He continues to forge out those things that must go before He comes and takes us home.
He is coming back for a pure and spotless bride. We are the bride. Let us be ready. Let us not be found lacking in any area when He comes. Oh for the glory that awaits us.
Lean into the fact that as the trials and forging come it points to the fact that He is bringing many sons to glory!
Have thine own way, Lord,
Have thine own way;
Thou art the Potter,
I am the clay.
Mould me and make me
After thy will,
While I am waiting,
Yielded and still.
