“The twenty four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne.” Revelation 4:10

He is calling us to a greater level of maturity. I’m asking myself do I have the level of maturity needed to fulfill the assignments He has given me? He’s calling me to get past some things and get into the race towards the Kingdom. The race is not towards salvation. I need to be way past that. The race is towards Kingdom building. To present the Kingdom to Jesus through many crowns. We all will face the bema seat one day. This is where all our works are piled up and fire is set to it. Whatever remains after the fire is the reward of crowns we will receive. The crowns are for His benefit and we will cast our crowns before Him.

“Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which he suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.”  Hebrews 5:8-9

The word perfect in this verse is not flawlessness. The word perfect means: in the completion of your assignment. Jesus completed all His assignments from the Father. It’s not for salvation but for the Kingdom. I need to be a person of influence that is saved, full of the Holy Spirit making an impact wherever I go. I am called into full maturity in the completion of the assignments that He has given me. Once I know Jesus, I better be running the race and fighting the fight, not forcing salvation but from a place of salvation. 

“For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” 2Timothy 1:12

There is the gospel of the Kingdom and the gospel of salvation. The gospel of salvation is righteousness, His standard of holiness. The gospel of the Kingdom is I am rightly aligned in the assignments that God has given me. As I am going along each day I need to be asking myself, “Is what I’m doing fit with the thing that He has assigned to me?” My righteousness should speak for itself. It’s not the righteousness of salvation. It is faithfulness for assignment and being the match for it first. 

“May the Lord repay each man for his righteousness and his faithfulness.” 1 Samuel 26:23

“The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness.” 2 Samuel 22: 21 He repeats this again in verse 25.

These verses are David speaking to the Lord. David was not perfect but he stayed in the fight. He did not bail. His loyalty and his faithfulness to his assignments that God gave him will one day withstand the fire before the bema seat. 

When it gets really hard sometimes in the assignments it would be so easy to bail. It is so hard to remain steadfast. But more than anything I want to complete the assignments He has for me. At the bema seat I want there to be gold and precious stones that remain when the fire is set to my pile of works. I want to be able to cast before Him many crowns! I want to end by saying, the question is not, “Can I count on Him staying with me?” but, “Can He count on me staying with Him?”

“Therefore, my beloved brother, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding

in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
