“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” 1 John 2:27
We all have been given gifts and talents from the Lord. The purpose of those gifts and talents is to use them to fulfill what He has called us to do. When asking the question, “What do you like to do and do really well?” the answer taps into your calling. Once you begin using the gifts and talents He has given you, you will love it! You will find a peace, fulfillment and a satisfaction that you maybe haven’t experienced before. It comes from being in sync with the Holy Spirit. You find yourself doing what you were born to do. It’s your destiny! There will be harmony in your soul.
Can you imagine if everyone in the world were using their gifts and talents for the call and purpose that God has for their lives? There would be such sweet unity among us. I am not saying everything will be easy or without problems. But you will have peace in the midst of it. You know you are right where you belong doing what you are supposed to do. He can handle any turmoil that comes your way.
I have a friend whose gift is being a connector. He is in a ministry where he has many connections. He is always using his gift to connect you with others to help fulfill whatever it is that you need to do. I could see he had such joy and excitement when he was doing this. He was so good at his gift that I had to make sure before I went to talk to him that I was ready to be connected. As soon as I would share his wheels were turning in his head and would get on the phone and immediately connect me with the person he felt could best help me. I was always amazed by how well he used his gift.
It is very sad to me that most people do not have this understanding therefore they are not being fulfilled and satisfied in their job. They are in jobs that they dread going to everyday. If you know someone like that, reach out and ask them the question. Once they answer, you share with them the gifts and talents you see in them that God wants to start using so they can be fulfilled and satisfied.
One of my joys in life is talking with people and trying to get to know them and their gifts and talents and encouraging them if they’re not using them to start using them.
