Experience the abundant life He came to give us

Don’t Be Afraid Of The Impossible

“But Jesus said to them, they do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” Matthew 14:16

The disciples knew that this was an impossible situation. They knew that in and of themselves they could not do what Jesus had asked them to do. Philips’ response was, 200 Denari worth of bread is not sufficient for everyone to receive even a little. So they did what they knew to do and that was to give Him what they had. We all know what happened next. He took it and multiplied it. I heard a preacher say, “It’s not ours to pay for but it’s ours to believe for.”

I find it so fascinating that the 5,000 did as they were told without question. They were instructed to sit down and get ready to eat a meal. Everyone in that crowd could see that there was no food in sight for any of them but yet they listened and obeyed. How crucial that act is when we are given an assignment from the Lord.

Going back to what I just said, it’s not up to us to provide for the impossible but we are responsible for believing for it. I personally have experienced over and over again impossible ridiculous situations play out before my eyes. Every time that I did obey, miraculous results would come. Impossible situations require miracles. Once I experience the miraculous I’m then ruined for the ordinary.

In this process of listening and obeying I am not the only one affected, so are all of those around me that see it. Just think 5,000 were there to witness the miraculous feeding! When I researched the feeding of the 5,000 found in Matthew, scholars say that 5,000 was just the number of men. To include women and children that day there had to have been between 15 to 20,000 people. I realize that we might not affect that many people at one time but it’s possible through a lifetime of obeying and believing for the impossible.

By the way there were 12 full baskets of leftover bread after the feeding. One for each disciple! Let that sink in.

Take courage, don’t be afraid. Step out and believe for the impossible that He’s asking you to do.

Trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey!!
