I had someone call me the other day that I had not heard from in about a year. At the end of our conversation and we were getting ready to hang up, he said to me, “I pray that you have unexpected blessings today.” It really struck me and when that happens I know that it is God speaking to me. I was very excited about those words. 

I immediately thought of an unexpected blessing that had already occurred that morning before I got the phone call. I was scheduled for a procedure in an outpatient facility and my sister was going to be my designated driver. She called and I could tell right away she was sick by her voice. She proceeded to tell me that she was very sick and could not take me. This was only a couple hours before I needed to leave. I’m sure you all know it’s difficult to find people to help because everyone is so busy. I started calling my friends and there was one who said yes I’m available and I can do it. I was so thankful and grateful. That was the first unexpected blessing of the day. 

The next one came very shortly after the phone call. We were needing about 350 Beanie Babies to finish packing our 5,000 shoe boxes that we produced this year as a group. Kathy, one of the ladies on the OCC team got on eBay and started buying as many as she could find. They were not expected to arrive until after they were needed. We were praying for them to come early. I received a phone call from Kathy and she said, “You’re not going to believe this. They will be here in time. I kept watching the tracking number bump up a day then 2 then 3.”

The rest of my day was filled with unexpected blessings. When I looked back over the day I was shocked at how many had occurred. As I was pondering this something came to me. I think every day is filled with unexpected blessings but I missed them because I wasn’t aware or watching for them. 
Lord help me to be keenly aware of all the unexpected blessings you send my way every day.
