“For ground that drinks the rain which often falls upon it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God.”Hebrews 6:7

Just last night we had a pretty big thunderstorm come through along with much rain. The thunder was very peculiar to me as it was not just single loud claps, but it was a continual very loud rumble. Each time it came I thought to myself will it ever end. 

I have a small patch of lavender plants on my property. I had noticed that my plants seemed so parched and dry. I was wondering if I would even get lavender this year as they did not look healthy at all. I had prayed over the plants asking the Lord to provide a wonderful soaking rain to come. Well He answered the prayer that night. I was amazed when I went down to look at the plants the very next day. They already looked healthier and ready to start stretching and growing. Last year I received a bountiful harvest! I am asking, praying and believing that it will be even greater this year. 

As I laid in bed listening to the rain come down that night, I pondered how the rain applied to my life. I believe that water is the representation of the Holy Spirit. When the rain (Holy Spirit) falls on my ground, is my ground ready to receive it? Is my ground parched and dry leaving the rain to just run? Or, is my ground tilled and rich ready to receive a downpour? Then what comes of that fresh rain that has fallen? Do I produce a beautiful harvest that will feed those around me?

I had a very precious dream a year ago that speaks of my ground being tilled. 

I was in a very large room where all the walls were white. There was a man plowing a plot of ground in the room. He then stopped and got off his tractor and said, “I am done.” He now is standing there with a garden hose watering the ground. I came to the doorway and said, “I think you need to plow some more.” I then took my shoes off and walked into the room on the ground to check it. As I was walking and inspecting the ground I was so amazed! It was very dark rich soil that was perfectly tilled. I said, “It looks beautiful! It IS done!” I turned around to look at him and we both smiled. There was a shaft of bright light that was coming into the room. I then woke up.

I felt the dream was the Lord saying to me that my ground was ready to receive the rain that He now wanted to send to produce the harvest. There has been years of the Lord working in my heart, mind and soul purging and getting me ready for the coming rain.

 How about you? How is your ground? Are you ready for the rain? Are you ready for the harvest? 

“Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone.” Zachariah 10:1
