“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.” Psalms 23:5 

I was reading my devotion the other day titled, “Dialogues with God” by Francis Roberts. As I read this part of the devotion, I had a vision at the same time. 

It read, “I am in the midst of My people to give them peace. I shall dine with them at the table, though countless hosts encamp round about.” I could see in that moment that that is a reality if I choose it.

In the vision I saw myself sitting at a table dining with Jesus. It was a very beautiful and peaceful scene. Encircling us was a host of evil. In this evil were those that wanted to put fear and helplessness on me. All the things that are happening now around me daily. This is all wanting to come closer and it will if I allow it to. I truly believe in the midst of all of the evil that is rampant around me, I can remain at peace and rest. The only way to do that is to remain in His presence dining with Him.

I went on to see more in the vision. I saw a beautiful crystal clear river teeming with life.

“Then God said, let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures.” Genesis 1:20

The river was so filled with fish that they were actually jumping out of the water. I was so refreshed and encouraged by this reality. That river is Him. I need not fear anything going on around me. I just need to stay in that river with Him that is teeming with life. That is a reality if I choose it. There is full provision in the river for all that I need. When I feel that outside pressure that is a reality trying to come on me, I say, “No.” I envision myself at that table dining with Him in the river that is teeming with life.
