“The unfolding of Your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130

I am so thankful and grateful for the word of God. It always is refreshing and brings life to me. I have read through the Bible multiple times. Each time getting something new from the scripture.

Growing up I went to a Baptist church on Wednesday nights to the Awana program. I am so thankful for what it did in my life. Each grade had a book with about 30 scriptures to memorize in a year. I completed almost every book for the years that I attended. At the time I did it for charms and suckers. Those were the rewards you received each time you memorized a verse. I had no clue the wealth that I was depositing into my soul. It was much easier to memorize when I was young. It is almost impossible for me to do that now. In times that I am in desperate need of help I can draw from that well of scripture in my soul.

I have found it to be true, His word does not return void.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void. But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

Once you put it inside of you, it will never leave you. Nothing and no one can ever take that from you. Beyond the word is the “revealed” word. The first time this happened to me, it was surprising and so amazing. I have read verses over and over and over again in my life but until God “revealed” that verse to me I did not have the full understanding.

You can read the word and the word can be revealed. I love it when it is revealed to me. It is as if a light bulb is turned on and it is a whole new depth and dimension of that scripture. It brings such clarity and understanding. It is as if life is flowing off the pages. It is so precious. It’s almost like it takes you to some place you have never been before. Opening up a whole new world. It makes the word real and tangible. It is a supernatural thing that only He can do. Once you’ve tasted and experienced it, you will not be satisfied with anything else.

If you have never experienced this, I encourage you the next time that you read the word to ask Him to “reveal” it to you.
