Faithful

“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.” Revelation 19:11

If I am only allowed one word to describe the Lord I would use the word, faithful. Throughout my whole life He has always been faithful. He has always been there for me whether I could see or believe it. Without Him I would not be where I am today. One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Hebrews 11. It is known as the faith chapter. It is an account of all of those in the New and Old Testament who in faith believed for……. Throughout all of history their testimony speaks of His precious faithfulness.

When I was just a small child a spirit of fear came on me and literally ruled my life for a long time. Living in fear makes it very complicated and difficult to live on a daily basis. I did not understand at the time but I do now, that one of my gifts is the gift of faith. Of course that is where the enemy is going to attack the most. As long as he could keep me in fear my gift of faith was not operating. I was delivered and set free from that spirit of fear. I now walk by faith.

The gifts are listed here in the scripture.

“For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, into another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.” I Corinthians 12:8-11

Once I was free from that spirit of fear the gift of faith began to operate. I asked the Lord if He would give me just as much faith and greater than the fear that had once plagued me. He answered that prayer overwhelmingly.

The word faith is used 365 times in the Bible. That is one for each day to chase away the fear! Here are just a few of my favorites.

“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” I Thessalonians 5:24

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

“But My righteous one shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. Hebrews 10:37-39

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.” Hebrews 12:2I

This last one is a question from the Lord. Out of all the words He could have used He chose, faith. I truly believe this is most important to Him. If it is for Him then it should be for me too.

“However when the Son of man comes will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8

I feel like never before I need His faithfulness!

I can say without any doubt, HE NEVER FAILS!
