“He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by his own purpose.” 2 Timothy 1:9
We were created to know God, to love God, and to worship Him. He also placed a call on each one of our lives. It’s what we’re born to do. It’s our destiny. I believe until we step into that call we’re not fully living. It does take full surrender to the will of the Father to walk in that call. Once we are fully walking in that call we will experience an abundant life.
John 10:10 “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Romans 11:29 “For God’s gifts and His calling are irrevocable.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
I feel like I am living in that abundant life because I am walking in the will of the Father and the call on my life. These are the following visions, signs and words that I received all pointing to the call before I was yet walking in them.
The first one came when I was a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling my four sons. I was walking from the living room to the dining room. As I entered the dining room I literally had to stop because I was having an open vision. What I saw were my hands straight out in front of me. My hands were in the open position. I saw paper money coming from the right and flowing across my right hand to my left in a continual flow. I knew this was the Lord. I heard Him say, “Millions will pass through your hands.” I also felt an impression from Him that He needed to be able to trust me. I had no clue what this was pertaining to but I knew one day it would be revealed.
The second thing that happened was I was introduced to Operation Christmas Child. Upon hearing about it my sons and I filled 12 shoe boxes. We prayed asking and believing God to send us the necessary items and shipping money for those boxes. He supplied it all through an incredible miracle. It was my first time to experience real faith. I prayed and He answered in a big way! I was changed from that day forward in my faith journey. After the boxes were filled and ready to go I took them to the nearest Relay Center.
After returning home I walked through the front door and I heard the Lord speak to me. He said to me, “This is your ministry.” In that same moment I had a vision. I saw myself standing next to Franklin Graham and I was kneeling down to hand a shoe box to a young dark skinned girl.
Within a few weeks I was invited to join two of my friends to travel down to Pensacola Florida. There was a revival taking place there at the time and they wanted to go be part of it. When they invited me to go I struggled with saying yes because I had the four boys at home. I was homeschooling them at the time. I would be gone for over a week. When I was trying to decide whether to go or not I knelt down before the Lord and prayed and asked Him if I should go. I heard Him say, “You must go to receive an anointing.” I did not really even understand what an anointing was but I knew that I had heard from Him. I needed to go.
The first night that we attended the revival meeting I received that anointing. I had a very intense heat come across my back as we were standing and praying at the end of the service. That night I had a dream. In the dream a limo came to pick me up at my home. I was in a wedding gown and the driver of the limo got out and came to the house to get me. He was in a formal men’s suit. He put me in the front seat passenger side. He was the driver. When I turned around and looked to see who was in the car it was an endless sea of people. They were all looking at me and smiling. They were all very happy.
I had one more dream that I want to share. When I entered into the dream I was handed a gift. It was in a brown paper bag. I had to give the gift to someone important. I did not feel the gift was wrapped pretty enough. I also felt that I was not dressed well enough to present this gift to this person. I was trying to re-wrap the gift and figure out how I could get my clothes changed. It was then I heard someone say, “You have to leave now to present the gift.” I did not have time to do either one. I had to leave right away. When I turned around I found myself in the midst of a very large group of people. They were sitting in chairs on both sides of me. I had to walk down the center aisle through all those people. I was very afraid. I did not want to do that. I thought to myself, wait a minute I’m not going to let fear stop me from presenting this gift. I then found myself boldly walking down the aisle. At the end of the aisle was a set of steps that quickly escalated up high. It was then that I realized I was presenting my gift to the president of the United States. At that time it was President Bush. I was halfway up the steps when I heard the president say, “Let us bow our heads and pray.” I turned around and sat down on the steps. I am now facing out into the crowd. I closed my eyes during the prayer. Suddenly the Holy Spirit was whispering in my ear. I could feel His presence. He said to me, “Open your eyes.” When I did I saw children of all colors running towards me. Before they reached me they dropped to their knees and slid towards me. It reminded me of a baseball player sliding into home base.
Within a few years all of this was fulfilled. At the time of receiving each one I did not understand what the Lord was saying to me. Now it all makes sense. In fact it all flows together.
- The vision of the money flowing through my hands. Thousands of OCC shoe boxes have passed through my hands each one having a value of about $25. It’s been fulfilled.
- The vision that I had of Franklin Graham standing next to me and myself handing a dark skinned girl a box happened in 2006. I met Franklin Graham at a training seminar and I went to Jamaica to hand out shoe boxes to the children. It’s been fulfilled.
- The anointing that I received has given me the power to do what God has called me to do. There must be an anointing in order to fulfill the call. There is no other way to do it. It’s been fulfilled.
- The interpretation of the dream I had the night of the anointing is as follows. The limo driver is the Lord. The limo is the body of Christ. I was the bride. Scripture calls us His bride. All of the people that I saw in the back of the limo are those I have touched through the shoe box ministry of OCC. I know one day I will get to meet each one personally. I’m waiting for eternity for that one to be completely fulfilled
- Here is the interpretation of the gift dream. The gift is Operation Christmas Child. I thought myself and the gift were not good enough. I think we can all relate to that. I would say this is probably the number one thing that stops people from using their gifts and walking in the call. Fear and insecurity wants to stop us from doing what God has called us to do. When we are in the center of His will there is no place for either. When I stepped out boldly (only because of the anointing) to give the gift away, the end result is children coming to receive Jesus as their Savior. They were sliding into home plate, heaven!
I get to participate with God everyday to fulfill the plans that He has for me each and every day.
Psalm 139:16 “Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”
Fulfilling His plans takes surrender, commitment, dedication and endurance. It is very hard physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally but it is worth every single moment of it. There is such joy, fulfillment and satisfaction in walking out the call. It truly is the abundant life that He came to give us. My heart’s cry is to see everyone walking fully in the call that God has on their life. I know what it brings me and I want that for everyone. I know it is His heart as well. I have learned through experience that nothing and no one can take you out of His will. Only you can stop His will through disobedience.
So how about you? Do you know the call that God has on your life? Are you walking in it? Are you using the gifts and talents He’s given you to fulfill it? I encourage you to examine your life and make sure you’re walking in the fullness of what God has for you. Paul told Timothy, “Stir up the gifts that you have been given.”
How do you know that for such a time as this your gifts, talents and call are needed more than ever?
